This tour is designed for people who desire to vist the Royal Palace of Caserta and the Park with its magnificient gardens and the highlights of the Naples city.
The tour will start from your Sorrento or Positano Hotel at 8am and the first stop will be at the Royal Palace of Caserta that represents a former royal residence in Caserta constructed for the Bourbon kings of Naples in the 18th century. The construction of the palace was begun in 1752 for Charles VII of Naples, who worked closely with his architect, Luigi Vanvitelli and with its 5 floors, 1200 rooms including two dozen state apartments and a large library is one of the largest palaces erected in Europe. The park starts from the back façade of the palace, flanking a long alley with artificial fountains and cascades. The most interesting is a botanical garden, called "The English Garden", in the upper part designed in the 1780s by Carlo Vanvitelli and the German-born botanist, plantsman-designer, John Graefer.
The tour will continue towards the Capital of the Italian region Campania and the 3rd largest Municipal city in Italy, Naples. Your driver will lead you on the hillside of the Mergellina Port where you can admire the wonderful panorama locally called "The Postcard of Naples". Then you will be driven throught the stunning waterfont where you can stop for a Pizza Lunch in front of the Castle Dell'Ovo end visit the centre of Naples taking a stroll in the huge Piazza Plebiscito facing the Royal palace of Naples, the famous Theatre San Carlo and the Galleria Umberto I. If the time will permit you will be able to visit the National Archeological Museum where are preserved all the artifacts retrieved in Pompeii, Herculaneum and Oplontiis ruins.
The tour will finish at the Hotel in the afternoon at about 5pm.

-The entrance fee in the Royal palace of Caserta is 12 Euros (free of charge for under 18 showing a valid ID and the first sunday of each month when only the Gardens entrance will cost 5 Euros per person).

The Royal Palace is weekly closed every tuesday, January 1st, Easter monday, May 1st and December 25th.
