Iaccarino Sorrento Limousine Service will be pleased to drive people who wish to visit the Archeological sites of Pompeii & Herculaneum and hike the summit of Mount Vesuvius.
The first stop of the private tour will be in Herculaneum where you will spend 1 and ½ hours to visit the site. This Roman Town was totally destroyed by volcanic pyroclastic flows during the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. In the last century they have been discovered 300 skeletons along the sea so it has been assumed that the town have been evacuated.
Then we will drive you up to the most dangerous Volcano in Europe: Mount Vesuvius. It has been discovered that this mountain lost part of his height during the catastrophic eruption in 79AD. We will drive up at about 3000 feets (about 1000 meters) and from there you will start to hike the summit of the crater taking a stroll for about 75 mins.
Along the way we can also stop for lunch and then we will drive you to the most popular ruins of Pompeii. We will stop you just outside of the main entrance "Porta Marina" (in the Roman times it was the entrance for the boats in to the town) where you will start your stroll for about 2 hours through the rest of this magnificent site. Actually Pompeii has been partially discovered only for the 2/3 infact you can note that sometimes there are Archeologist that are still digging the ruins.
We will drive you back to the port or Hotel in the afternoon at 5pm.
